Blessed is the man that trusteth in YHWH

Jeremiah 17:5-8
Thus saith YHWH; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from YHWH. 6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in YHWH, and whose hope YHWH is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

With millions of American Christians now reeling from the dreadful consequences of having put all their faith into one severely flawed man and his flawed political party of men and having ignored the Word of God, it’s now time we look at what they forgot as we study again what it means to trust in God, trust in YHWH and not in man.

I’m not going to preach or condemn their foolishness, rather I will let the Word of God speak for its self.

Psalm 9:9-10
YHWH also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, YHWH, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalm 18:2
YHWH is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 18:30
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of YHWH is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. 31 For who is God save YHWH? or who is a rock save our God?

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of YHWH our God.

Psalm 28: 7

Psalm 37: 3-7
Trust in YHWH, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in YHWH; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto YHWH; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 ¶ Rest in YHWH, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Psalm 37:40
And YHWH shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

Psalm 40: 1-4
¶ « To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. » I waited patiently for YHWH; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in YHWH. 4 Blessed is that man that maketh YHWH his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psalm 44: 5-8
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. 7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. 8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

Psalm 56: 1-4
¶ « To the chief Musician upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath. » Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Psalm 56: 9-11
When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. 10 In God will I praise his word: in YHWH will I praise his word. 11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

Psalm 61:1-4
¶ « To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. » Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

Psalm 62:5-8
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 ¶ Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Psalm 146: 3-10
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5 ¶ Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in YHWH his God: 6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: 7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. YHWH looseth the prisoners: 8 YHWH openeth the eyes of the blind: YHWH raiseth them that are bowed down: YHWH loveth the righteous: 9 YHWH preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. 10 YHWH shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye YHWH.

Finally, two New Testament scriptures to my fellow Christians that embodies all the above scriptures.

Colossians 2:6-10
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

1st Corinthians 1:20-25
¶ But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

And with that I say Amen.

May God bless you this day with his Holy Spirit.
