The Birth of Jesus
The Holy Bible records the birth of Jesus by a woman of Israel of the tribe of Judah named Mary. Mary was a virgin espoused to a man named Joseph, born out of the Israelite tribe of Judah and a descendent of king David, a great king blessed of God who once ruled all of the twelve tribes of Israel. Mary was visited by Gabriel, an archangel of God, one of God’s chief messengers and Gabriel informed Mary that she was chosen by God to bear a son and in her virgin state. The Holy Ghost would come upon her and by the power of God she would conceive with a child of God. The angel told Mary his name would be called JESUS for he would be the Son of God and he would reign over the twelve tribes of Israel on the throne of his father king David. He shall reign over the house of Jacob, or Israel, and of his kingdom there shall have no end. Her son JESUS would also be born to save Israel and her people from their sins.
Mary’s son, God’s Son was the prophesied holy one, the chosen one, anointed, or the Messiah whom the holy prophets of Israel had foretold of in their prophesies long ago. One such prophesy was that a virgin out of Israel would conceive a son and his name shall be call Emmanuel which means God with us.
God was indeed with man, Jesus was born of the Adamic race, of man in the flesh however he was also God in the flesh, the son of David, son of Mary, the Son of God.
Jesus was born in the midst of great astronomical wonder in the heavens above and at the time of his birth there appeared a great bright star. Three Magi, or wisemen, traveled great distance following the star which was to be a sign of new born King of the Jews. They followed the star until it stopped over the place where Jesus lay and brought three gifts. One gift was of gold the precious metal of God, one gift of Frankincense, the holy fragrance for God, and the last gift myrrh, a substance used for one’s burial to denote his future sacrifice and death on the cross for the sins of Israel and all of mankind.
