I am God, and there is none else

Today there are many religions, many idols worshiped around the world by peoples as their god, and some even hold so called spiritual ideas as that of so called New Age, which teach that a human can be his or her own god.

This message is for those believe in a god, worship an idol, or practice a religion.

The Holy Bible which is the Holy Living WORD of GOD, a text which is God Breathed, Living and of a supernatural origin, giving witness to the world that there is no god, but ONE HOLY RIGHTEOUS GOD, the GOD of THE HOLY BIBLE. This God is the Holy Spirit, the Holy Word by which the earth and heavens were created.

Genesis 1:1-2 (KJV)
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. [2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The Holy Bible records God’s Holy Name in the Book of Genesis.

Genesis 2:4 (KJV)
[4] These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH God made the earth and the heavens,

The Holy Bible records that YHWH God created man.

Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
[7] And YHWH God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The Holy Bible witnesses that God created all things, man, animals, plants, trees, creatures great and small.

Genesis 2:4-5 (KJV)
[4] These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH God made the earth and the heavens, [5] And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for YHWH God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

So this GOD named in Hebrew Holy Scriptures of the Holy Bible as YHWH, created all things.

As man would multiply on the earth the Holy Bible witnesses that man sought after idols and worshiped images made by man.

Genesis 13:19 (KJV)
[19] And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father’s.

We learn in the Holy Bible that YHWH GOD detests idols or idol worship of man.

Leviticus 19:4 (KJV)
[4] Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am YHWH your God.

Leviticus 26:1 (KJV)
[1] Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am YHWH your God.

Man was not to bow down to an image graven in stone or any form, for the Holy Bible witnesses that God is a Jealous GOD.

Exodus 20:5 (KJV)
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I YHWH thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Exodus 34:14 (KJV)
[14] For thou shalt worship no other god: for YHWH, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

We can see that YHWH's name is Jealous; the God of the Holy Bible is a Jealous God.

Judges 2:1-2
[1] And an angel of YHWH came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. [2] And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?

YHWH was clearly not pleased with the idol or altar worship of man as he commanded his people Israel, with whom God made a Holy covenant, not to make league with inhabitants of lands around which the Israelite peoples lived.

This jealousy of GOD is witnessed in the Holy Bible in following Holy Scriptures.

Deuteronomy 4:24 (KJV)
[24] For YHWH thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Deuteronomy 5:9 (KJV)
[9] Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I YHWH thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,

Deuteronomy 6:15 (KJV)
[15] (For YHWH thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of YHWH thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

Joshua 24:19 (KJV)
[19] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve YHWH: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.

We learn about the Holiness and Righteousness of God in His Holy Law. Transgression of this Holy Law is known as Sin. The following is the first example of holiness in the Holy Bible.

Exodus 3:4-6 (KJV)
[4] And when YHWH saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. [5] And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. [6] Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

The Ground on which God appears to Moses is Holy. Note also in this Holy Scripture that God names Himself “the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”

A part of God’s jealousness can be witnessed in the things which YHWH forbid His people Israel to do, such as the divination of spirits.

Leviticus 19:1-2 (KJV)
[1] ¶ And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I YHWH your God am holy.

Leviticus 19:31(KJV)
[31] Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am YHWH your God.

Leviticus 20:1-8 (KJV)
[1] ¶ And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. [3] And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. [4] And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto molech, and kill him not: [5] Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with molech, from among their people. [6] And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. [7] Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am YHWH your God. [8] And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am YHWH which sanctify you.

Note that molech was a idol of the other peoples of the lands, an abomination to YHWH.

Deuteronomy 18:10-15 (KJV)
[10] There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, [11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. [12] For all that do these things are an abomination unto YHWH: and because of these abominations YHWH thy God doth drive them out from before thee. [13] Thou shalt be perfect with YHWH thy God. [14] For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, YHWH thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. [15] ¶ YHWH thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

It’s clear that God forbids and detests divination, an observer of times, an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

All these things are abominable to GOD, and were practiced by man, or in this case the inhabitants living in lands where Israel lived.

The Holy Bible also records the use of astrology and God does not favor for such enchantments or sorceries.

Isaiah 47:12-13
12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.

So we can clearly see God, Almighty YHWH is not pleased by man’s fascination with spiritual realm, magic, astrology, divination, witchcraft and the like. We can see God forbids such to take place inside the camp of the peoples of Israel and that to do such activities was a severe transgression of the Holy Righteous Law of YHWH.

Throughout the Holy Bible God commands His people to remain loyal to Him. This dialogue with God and His people was made possible through God's Appointed Holy prophets. The following Holy Scriptures give testimony to GOD’s proclamations to His people Israel.

Isaiah 42:8 (KJV)
[8] I am YHWH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 43:10-15 (KJV)
[10] Ye are my witnesses, saith YHWH, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. [11] I, even I, am YHWH; and beside me there is no saviour. [12] I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith YHWH, that I am God. [13] Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it? [14] ¶ Thus saith YHWH, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. [15] I am YHWH, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

Note God proclaims not only that He alone is God, but also the titles of Redeemer, Creator, and King of Israel.

Isaiah 44:6-14 (KJV)
[6 ] Thus saith YHWH the King of Israel, and his redeemer YHWH of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. [7] And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. [8] Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. [9] ¶ They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed. [10] Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing? [11] Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together. [12] The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. [13] The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house. [14] He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

YHWH repeatedly tells His people Israel there is no other god, but YHWH.

Isaiah 44:15-24 (KJV)
[15] Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto. [16] He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire: [17] And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god. [18] They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand. [19] And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? [20] He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand? [21] ¶ Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. [22] I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee. [23] Sing, O ye heavens; for YHWH hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for YHWH hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel. [24] Thus saith YHWH, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am YHWH that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Notice YHWH says only He can redeem or blot out transgressions or sins of Israel.

Isaiah 45:5-13 (KJV)
[5] ¶ I am YHWH, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: [6 ] That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am YHWH, and there is none else. [7] I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I YHWH do all these things. [8] Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I YHWH have created it. [9] Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? [10] Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth? [11] ¶ Thus saith YHWH, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. [12] I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. [13] I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith YHWH of hosts.

Isaiah 45:18-25 (KJV)
[18] For thus saith YHWH that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am YHWH; and there is none else. [19] I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I YHWH speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. [20] ¶ Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. [21] Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I YHWH? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. [22] Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. [23] I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. [24] Surely, shall one say, in YHWH have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. [25] In YHWH shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

Note that YHWH Says every knee shall bow to God.

Isaiah 46:3-13 (KJV)
[3] Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: [4] And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. [5] ¶ To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? [6] They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. [7] They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. [8] Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. [9] Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: [11] Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. [12] Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: [13] I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

Note that God speaks of salvation for his people Israel. Only God can save or bring salvation.

Isaiah 48:12-13 (KJV)
[12] Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. [13] Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

God Almighty YHWH states that He is the first, He is the last.

Isaiah 66:1-5 (KJV)
[1] Thus saith YHWH, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? [2] For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith YHWH: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. [3] He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. [4] I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. [5] ¶ Hear the word of YHWH, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let YHWH be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

YHWH seeks to be glorified by His people and all mankind; in glorifying YHWH there is a reward.

Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
[1] ¶ And God spake all these words, saying, [2] I am YHWH thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. [3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me. [4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: [5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I YHWH thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; [6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Those who keep YHWH’s commandments and love God and fear Him, God will show mercy to.

Exodus 33:19 (KJV)
[19] And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of YHWH before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

God shows mercy to whom God shows mercy.

Though God chose Israel to be his special people, God has a plan for the stranger, or non-Israelite who seeks YHWH, His commandments and will join to His Holy covenant.

Isaiah 56:1-8 (KJV)
[1] ¶ Thus saith YHWH, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. [2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. [3] ¶ Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to YHWH, speak, saying, YHWH hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. [4] For thus saith YHWH unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; [5] Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. [6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to YHWH, to serve him, and to love the name of YHWH, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; [7] Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. [8] The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

It’s clear that God has a plan for those who love God, love the things of God, all who live in righteousness.

The last Scripture in this brief study will quote what JESUS said about YHWH.

John 4:20-26 (KJV)
[20] Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. [21] Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. [22] Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. [23] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. [25] The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. [26] Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

Notice the woman in New Testament scriptures says her fathers worshiped in this mountain, which was Mount Ephraim where the house of Israel worshiped idols and broke Gods Holy Law. Others of the children of Israel of the house of Judah however worshiped YHWH in Jerusalem, the location of God’s Holy Temple.

Notice JESUS says salvation of God is only to the Jews or the house of Judah at this time, but he then makes an amazing revelation:

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [24] God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

The woman whose fathers were Israelite replies to JESUS I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

and JESUS replies to the woman ”I that speak unto thee am he.”

In this Holy Scripture we can see that the Father or YHWH is a Spirit, and He seeks true worshipers who worship God in the spirit and in truth.

We also see that JESUS identifies Himself as the Christ, or YHWH’s Anointed, the Messiah.

In this Holy Scripture we can see that YHWH Almighty God seeks worshipers and JESUS the Christ is the Anointed of God.

This Bible study is a brief introduction to those who don’t know the nature of Almighty God.

Now that you understand a little more about God, please take some time to understand who JESUS is and why JESUS is important to YHWH’s plan to Save mankind.

John 3:16-18
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
