That the world through him might be saved.

John 3:15-21
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jesus spoke this amazing statement of promise to a religious ruler of the time, a Pharisee, who visited Jesus in the night that “whosoever”, or anyone, who believes in Jesus should not perish but have eternal life!

Jesus stated here that God sent his Son, Jesus, into the world not to condemn it, but to give the message that through him the world might be saved.

If anyone believes in Jesus he or she would be saved and receive eternal life.

John the Baptist--the forerunner to Jesus who declared all to come to repentance and be ready for the coming Messiah, Jesus the Christ, who would come after him--spoke of Jesus.

John 3:35-36
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John taught that he or she who believes in the Son, Jesus the Son of God, has everlasting life and him or her that believes not in Jesus shall not see life everlasting, but has to look forward to God’s Judgment and wrath.

In the next scripture Jesus speaks with a Samaritan woman at a well. Read what amazing statement Jesus made.

John 4:10-14
Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Jesus states whosoever (anyone) who drinks of the water Jesus has to offer he or she shall never thirst. He also states that the water Jesus shall give shall be a well springing up to into everlasting life! Again Jesus speaks of the promise of Everlasting Life!

In the next scripture Jesus speaks to Martha who has just lost her brother Lazarus. Read what amazing statement Jesus made to Martha and to us all.

John 11: 23-26
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Jesus states he is the Resurrection and the Life and he or she who believes in Jesus, and had died already, yet shall that person live (again). And he states whosoever lives and believes in Jesus shall never die (having everlasting life). Jesus then asked Martha, Do you believe?

This was again another amazing statement of promise Jesus made to all men and women.

Do you believe it?

In the next scripture Jesus states he is the Light of the world.

John 12: 44-50
¶ Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Jesus states a number of things here. First, that he or she who believes in Jesus, believe not on Jesus alone, but upon God who sent Jesus. Next he states that he or she who sees Jesus witnesses God the Father who sent His Son Jesus.

Next Jesus states that he or she who hears Jesus and his words and believes not in Jesus, Jesus judges them not; However, the words Jesus spoke-- they shall judge that man or woman who believed not and or rejected Jesus.

Jesus then continues, that he has not spoken these words of himself, but by the Father who sent Jesus and his Father gave him a commandment of what words Jesus should speak, and that this commandment of God is life everlasting!

Next you will read what the Apostles of Jesus had say about Jesus.

Acts 10:38-43
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

The apostle here is testifying how God anointed Jesus the Christ with the Holy Ghost and power who was crucified on the tree (the cross) by the Jews and the people, was raised the third day from the dead and shown openly witnessed by his disciples and many others ---commanded his disciples to preach and testify to the people that it was Jesus who was ordained of God to be the judge of the quick and the dead to give to all the prophets witness that through his name whosoever will believe in Jesus shall receive remission of their sins.

Whosoever (anyone who) believes in Jesus will receive remission of their sins.

Continuing on, we read what the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Rome.

Romans 10:8-13
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Paul teaches that if you shall confess with your mouth believing in the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart (mind) that God has raised Jesus up from the dead, you shall be saved. For whosoever shall believe on Jesus shall not be ashamed. There is no difference between a Jew (Israelite) or Gentile (non-Israelite) for the Lord is rich to all who call upon him.

The Promise that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Anyone who calls on the Name of Jesus shall be saved.

Lastly, take a look at the disciple John.

1st John 4: 9-16
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

John teaches that God sent his only Son into the world as a propitiation (or for the atonement) for our sins, that we might live through Jesus the Christ.

Because God loves us by sending his Son to die for our sins, we ought to love one another.

John states that his testimony attests that God the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world that whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, has God indwelling in him or her and he or she is in God.

What amazing Promises that Jesus gave to us --to all men and women adults and children-- that if only they should believe in Jesus the Christ they should have Everlasting Life, a well of water springing up inside them to Everlasting Life, and the Promise to be saved from theirs sins receiving the atonement and free from receiving the wrath of God.
