But the tares are the children of the wicked one

Matthew 13:24-30
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:36-43
Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Since the beginning of the Holy Bible, YHWH God, who created everything, has had to deal with a rebellious angel we know as Satan, the adversary, and in the parable taught above, Jesus illustrates the continued spiritual battle for the souls of mankind, God’s creation. The world is the battle field and God sent one, Jesus the Christ, into the world to bring light and counter against the devil and his deceitful and destructive motives to destroy God’s creation, man, and take him to hell with the devil himself and all his kind.

Jesus said of Satan, he was a thief who only came to steal, kill, and destroy.

John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

We can see in Jesus parable of the wheat and tares, that the devil has been busy planting evil seeds in the field of God, and that God is going to allow the these evil seeds to exist alongside the good seeds of the children of God in Jesus Christ, until the end of the harvest when God shall gather out his people from among the tares, and gather all the evil tares that offend, and destroy them in fire, and the wrath of almighty God.

There is no third party in the parable, only the Godly seeds of God, and the evil seeds of the devil, and the situation has not changed over time. Jesus teaches that you are either a good seed planted of God, or a seed planted by the devil.

Jesus disciples who later became apostles taught that the devil and his domain is of this world, which is separate from Christ.

2nd Corinthians 4:3-4
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

We learn that the god of this world, Satan, has blinded those who do not yet believe in Jesus Christ.

As Jesus said of the blind in another parable.

Luke 6:39
And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

That ditch is simply another symbol for hell and hell’s fire and those who are blinded by devil are heading toward that destination unless God saves them by his good grace.

Ephesians 2;8-10
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are only saved by the grace of God and through belief in Jesus the Son of God and not of any works we ourselves have done good or bad, but through the work of Jesus Christ his sacrifice and death on the cross.

Jesus told the Jews he was not of this world.

John 8:23
And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

Jesus before he died on the cross said to his disciples he was not of the world.

John 17:16
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Later Jesus told Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor trying Jesus, that His kingdom was not of this world.

John 18:36
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Jesus’ disciples later taught that to be a friend of the world was to be opposed to God.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1st John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

To love the world, being the things of the world and anything that takes our attention away from seeking and knowing the one true God, is to become an enemy of God. John warns us not to love the world, nor the things of this world, such as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life itself. These things are not of the love of the Father YHWH, but of the world which the devil is god over.

The apostle John further states that the world and all its evils will pass one day, but those in Christ will live forever.

The apostle Peter, writing of Jesus, speaks of the corruption in the world.

2nd Peter1:3-4
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Again, we see the seed of God is of a divine nature and the seed of the devil of the world is of corruption through lust.

The Apostle John spoke of the difference between the children of God and those of the world.

1st John 4:4-6
¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Those of the world who mind the things of the world, are acclimated to the world and hear only the things of the world, being blinded by the devil to the truth. Those who are of God, have not only overcome the world, as Jesus has overcome the world, but they hear and hear the things of God, possessing the Spirit of God, knowing the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

In another scripture the apostle John shows we overcome the world by our faith in Jesus the Christ.

1st John 5:4-5
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Just as there are the seed of the God and the seed of the devil, there are also spirits, and we are told to believe not every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are from God.

1st John 4:1-3
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The apostle John further states that whole world is in wickedness.

1st John 5:18-20
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

The whole world lies in wickedness, and great darkness, and is under the spell of the devil, but the light of the world is Jesus Christ and all who believe in him receive that light, receiving the truth with understanding to know the Son of God, Jesus the true God and eternal life.

The apostle John wrote the Gospel of John where he describes Jesus as the light.

John 1:1-13
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 ¶ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

So, we can see that Jesus is light of the world, and only through Jesus, can one through faith in Jesus, be born of God.

Before we come to know God, we are blind men, women, and children coping and groping in the darkness and blind for the truth of something, hold on to anything, but until we seek God and acknowledge God in truth through Jesus, the Son of God, do we find that truth and the thing that we have been searching for in the dark all this time.

Jesus said he is the way, the truth, and the life.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Are you walking in the dark today?

Are you walking in lies and blindness of the devil and of this evil world? Are you currently a tare of the seed of the evil one?

Then learn of JESUS and why he came nearly 2000 years ago, and why he died on the cross. Jesus died for your sins. He came to free you from the prison and burden of sin. Will not you reach out today, right now, cry out to God, for he is watching you, as you read this article right now, Jesus is ever present waiting for your response, you call out to him in faith.

Will you believe in faith?

Will call out to Jesus?

The apostle Paul taught that whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:8-13
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Do not harden your heart, but believe, and be saved in the grace of God, and you too will be a good seed of God, the wheat ready to be harvested by God in his harvest.

May God bless you and show you all truth.

May God bless you this day with his Holy Spirit.
